our last canyon trip was a pretty good one, Tom Hook’s crew had a nice assortment. They picked up a couple Bluefin Saturday afternoon before we went offshore. Once offshore they mahi fishing was a little slow, only managing about a dozen before we set up for the night. Not much action until about 4am when we caught a nice swordfish. A nice school of larger mahi came by shortly after and we boated about 9 of them. After sunrise, we put 4 yellowfin in the boat in about 25 minutes. Did a little more pot hopping and caught a dozen or so more before heading home, the weather for the entire trip was great. We will be out for seabass tomorrow, hope to have another good report.
